During my fourth semester at NID, I was fortunate to participate in the NID industry interface of 2017, which led to a life-changing opportunity. Disney India, a leading player in the Indian entertainment industry, invited me to conceptualize an animated TV show for their Disney Kids channel network as part of my graduate degree project. Working with such a renowned organisation, committed to bringing quality family entertainment across all age groups, was an inspiring experience. Through the development process, I was able to refine my skills in crafting stories, characters, and visual designs for animation, which I believe brought a unique level of sophistication to the Indian animated TV show palette.
My project, "THE MASK OF KOKACHI," was a childhood idea that took shape during my time with Disney India, and it was truly fulfilling to see it come to life through the various phases of development. The work environment at Disney India was highly motivating, and I witnessed the best-in-class business standards upheld by the organisation. My time there taught me about the effort required of a writer at their desk, the grind of production to meet deadlines, the dynamics of the entertainment and media business, and the demographics and economics that govern the industry. Overall, it was a positive learning experience like none other.
I'm happy to share the animation trailer for "The Mask of Kokachi," a series made for kids under 9. The trailer shows the characters, story, and animation style, and has the potential to become a standalone series for the Disney Kids channel network.
The animation process involves several steps, including pre-production, storyboarding, character design, animation, and post-production. Each step is crucial and requires dedication to create a visually stunning and compelling series. Attention to detail is necessary to ensure the final product is of high quality.
It takes a lot of hard work, creativity, and effort to bring a project like this to life. I feel lucky to have been part of the team. The step-by-step process of animation is a testament to artistic ability and creativity. It showcases the effort and dedication that goes into creating high-quality animation content.
